My name is Jaye!

Lovely to meet you and so glad you have found your way to my website. I am an English Language teacher located in Northern England. I am a total language lover and I enjoy spreading that love with others.

I have 7 years experience teaching English including native speakers, English for speakers of other languages, English Literature, Drama, Performance, Public Speaking & Writing.

I have an extensive English background including an advanced degree in English Literature as well as a FE qualification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Cambridge University. Additionally, I have a TEFL qualification from TEFLOrg. I speak English (native), Swedish (B1-2) and a little Spanish (A2-B1).

My Teaching Philosophy

Like every teacher, I have  worked to develop an approach to language learning that I believe works well for most students.

My teaching is “language first” and focuses on developing an understanding of language that is about communication before rules. We work from a method of self-discovery that helps us remember ideas, grammar & vocabulary in a natural way that lasts a lifetime.

Students find this “language first” approach more fun and far more effective than simply memorising rules and drilling endless flashcards.
